Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

Triumph will be the official motorcycle sponsor for the next Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride as the suitably attired charitable phenomenon expands further across the globe.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a themed rideout to raise awareness and funds for two male centred charitable causes. Founder Mark Hawwa hit upon the inspiration for the theme in 2012, when he saw a photo of Don Draper from TV show Mad Men sitting on a classic bike whilst wearing a suit. Triumph decided that the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride captures everything to be celebrated about motorcycling, and has supported the event for a number of years, seeing DGR grow to a global event in the process.

Since its inception DGR has spread to more countries, cities and towns each year, with millions being raised as motorcyclists from all walks of life come together. In 2016, more than 56,000 smartly-dressed riders took to their classic and vintage motorcycles for rideouts in 500 cities across 90 countries. All of the events helped to raise awareness and funds for DGR’s two chosen causes, prostate cancer research and male suicide prevention.

The ride now has a series of ambassadors, including Triumph’s very own adventurer Charley Boorman, helping DGR to grow even more. There’s also a special edition DGR Digby Riding Jacket available from Triumph dealers, where every jacket purchased results in a donation being made to the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, adding to the juggernaut of gentlemanly giving.

If you want to put on your Sunday best and take part in the next Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, you can get more information or sign up by visiting the DGR Website.

Don’t worry if you can’t attend one of the rides. From Lahore to London and onto Los Angeles, you can get updates and images of Triumph riders taking part across globe via the official Triumph social media channels.
